As a registered dietitian, I get asked all the time, “Amanda, what supplements do you take?”
I am excited to share the three supplements I use every single day!

1) @goultima electrolytes mix! This is by far my most recommended supplement. I started learning about the benefits of electrolyte enhanced water about 7 years ago. When I began using it, I noticed a difference in how I felt immediately. I then began telling all my clients about it, making it my most recommended supplement. Using @goultima daily really helps replace important electrolytes and minerals necessary to optimize how your body works. Plus I love the flavor and it has helped my whole family drink more water daily!
If you are always feeling run down, if your cravings and hunger are high, if you get frequent headaches and muscle aches, electrolyte might be your missing link. I use 2-4 scoops of Ultima throughout my day!

2) Creatine! This is another supplement that has benefits for everyone! Most people think creatine is only for bodybuilders, but that is just not true! Creatine is great for your muscles, as we age preventing muscle loss is key, and creatine, along with adequate protein can help reduce this loss. BUT creatine is also good for your brain health! Creatine supplementation has been shown to improve cognitive functions in those who have Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, brain/spinal cord injuries, and those who suffer from memory loss.
This is my go-to creatine option. It has 100 servings making it last well over 3 months!
Some people will do a “loading” phase of creatine to saturate their muscles more rapidly, then will back down to the suggested serving of 2-5g every day afterward. However, this is not necessary for the clients I work with. Simply starting a creatine supplement and follow the directions of taking 5g each day. This will be more than enough to begin fueling your muscles with more phosphocreatine which in turn makes more ATP for sustainable energy, endurance, and power in the gym.
3) Oxy-Powder, Magnesium Oxide. I must confess that I don’t necessarily use this every day, but I always have it on hand to use as needed for constipation. Daily bowel movements are key to your health and your weight loss goals. Don’t let anyone tell you it is okay to go 1-2 days without a bowel movement. It is not! If I end the day with no bowel movement, I take this and it always works!
