The alarm rings. Outside your window, the sky is still dark.
And before your feet hit the ground, you’re mentally running through your to-do list.
Make coffee. Make breakfast. Pack lunches. Check backpacks. Get everyone dressed. Brush everyone’s teeth. Comb everyone’s hair.
And that’s just the first hour of the day.
From there, you’re bustling from task to task, making sure everyone’s needs are met.
So, let me make your life a little easier.
This week, let’s take “Slave over the stove” off your to-do list. And let’s sub it out for these delicious no-cook time-savers.
Three breakfasts, three lunches, and three dinners that require zero cooking.
That means, instead of jumping straight into the kitchen to sear and sauté, you can sit down (gasp!) and relax for a moment (impossible!). Dinner will be as simple as assembling a few ingredients.
Today, I’ll share nine no-cook recipes perfect for the back-to-school season, so you can take a break from kitchen duty.
Take a Break, Breakfast Chef.
👉 Smoked Salmon Bagel Board
Bagels, smoked salmon, whipped cottage cheese or cream cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, capers + berries
This breakfast feels fancy, but it’s a major time saver. Simply throw your ingredients on a large cutting board and let everyone at the table assemble their own plate.
Take the recipe up a notch and make your own whipped cottage cheese. You’ll love this macro-friendly, smooth, and rich spread you can sub in for cream cheese.
Or, on busy mornings, try this higher-protein cream cheese you can pick up at the store.
👉 Egg and Sausage Snack Plate
Hard boiled eggs, swiss cheese, berries, chicken sausage, + Kraut
You can have a full egg and sausage breakfast without spending a minute over the stove. Half a few hard boiled eggs, toss a few pieces of sausage in the microwave, and load up your plate with other snacky, satiating foods, like swiss cheese, fruit, and (my favorite) Kraut’s sauerkraut for some gut-friendly goodness.
👉 Greek Yogurt Berry Bowl
Plain yogurt, berries, chia seeds, cinnamon, maple syrup + chopped walnuts
Love something sweet first thing in the morning? A yogurt bowl is easy to make and meal prep, if your mornings are especially busy.
In your bowl, add one or two servings of Oikos protein yogurt. Stir in a tablespoon of maple syrup or honey, two tablespoons of chia seeds, and a big sprinkle of cinnamon. Top with berries and chopped walnuts.
Try These Lazy Lady Lunches.
👉 Tuna Avocado Sandwich
Tuna packet, avocado, bread, sliced tomatoes + fruit
Tuna salad sandwiches are so satiating, and for good reason. They’re the original macro-balanced meal. Protein, carbs, and fats come together to fill us up and keep us full for hours.
This version, though, won’t overload you with empty calories and carbs. Use avocado instead of mayo for a creamy, whole-food tuna salad. Add salt, pepper, and hot sauce (if you like a kick). Then, pile your tuna salad onto carb-friendly hero bread. Add sliced tomatoes and serve with your favorite fruit.
👉 Chicken Caprese Pita Pockets
Pre-cooked chicken strips, mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, basil, balsamic glaze + pita bread
Pre-cooked chicken is a lunch lifesaver. Now, there are many brands that are minimally processed, making fast lunches much healthier.
This is one of my favorite ways to turn pre-cooked chicken into a satisfying meal.
Start with your pita bread. Add two servings of cooked chicken. Load in tomatoes and basil.
Here’s another hack. Top with slices of light string cheese. For just 100 calories, you’ll add 12 grams of protein. Plus, this string cheese melts beautifully, if you like the pull-apart cheesy goodness of a hot caprese sandwich. Just add your fresh veggies after warming in the toaster oven or microwave. Then drizzle on your balsamic glaze.
👉 Greek Yogurt Chicken Salad and Crackers
Rotisserie chicken salad, baby carrots, berries + seedy crackers.
If you’re feeling like making a headstart this week, whip up a quick batch of this high-protein chicken salad. It’s absolutely delicious and comes together quickly if you use pre-cooked rotisserie chicken.
If time is short, simply shred some rotisserie chicken breast and mix in a big dollop of Greek yogurt, a squirt of Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Then, if you feel up for it, add chopped celery, red onion, and halved grapes.
Pack up your lunch box with a big serving of this chicken salad, then baby carrots, berries, and my favorite seedy crackers.
Ditch the Kitchen for Dinner.
👉 Turkey Hummus Snack Plates
Deli turkey, hummus, crackers, baby cucumbers, grape tomatoes + grapes
Lunchables meets charcuterie board for this no-cook, family friendly dinner. High-protein turkey, creamy hummus, crunchy crackers, and fresh produce: this board hits it all.
I love all things spicy, so the Mary’s Jalapeno crackers are my top choice. But if you prefer a savory flavor, try Milton’s Everything Crackers.
👉 Rotisserie Chicken Caesar Wraps
Shredded rotisserie chicken, bagged Caesar salad, caesar dressing + tortillas
Rotisserie chicken comes to the rescue again with this Chicken Caesar Wrap.
Toss together your caesar salad kit. Ditch the packet of dressing. Instead, quickly blend together this delicious, high-protein and lower fat recipe. It’s packed with Caesar flavor but rings in at 48 calories and 3 grams of protein per 2 tablespoons.
Shred up your chicken and mix it in. Then load that all into your tortilla. This dinner will be on repeat.
👉 Chicken Crumbles Taco Bowl
Pre-cooked chicken crumbles, microwave rice, black beans, salsa, avocado + shredded lettuce
There are some brands I just keep returning to over and over. They make healthy living easy, even when life gets busy. That’s true of Amylu. They offer taco-seasoned Chicken Crumbles that we eat on repeat.
Amylu’s Chicken Crumbles are delicious sautéed in a pan. But when time is short, you can break apart and microwave them too. That means taco bowls are on the menu, even on the busiest nights.
To make this meal no-cook, buy microwave rice, or cook your own bagged rice in the microwave using this method.
