5 healthy back to school lunches

Whether the kids are learning at home or back in the classroom, the 2020 school year is here. When you’re living the LEAN lifestyle, you’re making nutritious dinners for your family throughout the week, you’re fueling your body with healthy lunches, and I know many of you want to send your kids to school with a healthful lunch too! Most school cafeterias have very limited healthy options and most choices are full of empty carbohydrates and LOADED with added sugars. With a little planning, you can prepare wholesome lunches for your kids that are filling and delicious, and it doesn’t have to be hard! Get the kids involved in choices and preparation and mix it up! Check out some of these back to school lunches that are colorful, WELL-BALANCED, fun, do NOT require heating, and full of WHOLE FOOD nutrition! I promise, you’re going to want to eat these lunches too!

1) Turkey sandwich triangles with spinach of gluten free bread, mixed veggies, orange and kiwi slices, with sunflower seeds, pumpkins seeds, and homemade dried blueberry trail mix

2) Strawberry spinach salad with rotisserie chicken, berry blender muffins, dried apricot and almond joy energy bites, and pistachios

3)  Ham and spinach wrap, carrots, grapes, almonds, and pickles.

4) Egg cups with mixed fruit and almonds

5) BLT salad with boiled eggs and blueberries

Sending kids to school with a nutritious lunch feeds their brains, fuels their bodies, and establishes good eating habits for life! AND it doesn’t have to be hard. A little prep and planning can go a long way! The 2020 school year is starting like no other year in our history. Here’s one way we can start the year off right!
